How We Actually Review a Game
People sometimes ask how long we spend on a game before writing. The honest answer is: until we have something real to say, which is usually longer than we'd like.
For a strategy or tower defence game, that means finishing the campaign and poking at the hardest modes. For an RPG, it means at least one full run and enough of a second to see if the choices matter.
We keep messy notes the whole time — first impressions, the moment something clicked, the moment something annoyed us. The review is mostly us cleaning those up and arguing over the score.
The score itself is the least important part. A number can't tell you whether a game is for you. That's what the paragraphs are for, so read those first.
